So long!
Hi world,
Unfortunately, I am no longer freelance writing. Yes… I had to give in to the demands of the man and get a full time position outside of my home. But all’s not lost! It’s a fun retail management job centered around merchandising my favorite thing — clothes! So as much as I love writing about clothing, it will be just as nice to see them in flesh on a daily basis.
I will still be writing for fun at a part-time gig for Examiner.com as a Philadelphia Beauty Examiner. I get paid per click for this one so show me some love and keep readin’! I’m still more than happy to discuss beauty with industry folk, test products, and that sort of thing for Examiner — so for all that have supported me before, please keep in touch.
Best of luck to everyone and I hope to speak with you again in the future!
Boydie

My Favorite Travel Sites

Westminster
Although there are plenty of big name travel websites out there, I find it’s the no-namer’s I like best when booking any trip. These websites are often specialized to a certain niche making it easier to seek research your specific needs.
When traveling to England, I often find myself using TubeHotels.com. What I really like is that the site sticks to their point – finding hotels near the London locations you desire — without wavering or getting confusing. For example, if you have a particular site you are interested in visiting, like Westminster, all you to do is check out the tube line near the site, like Westminster station. Plug that into TubeHotel’s simple search feature and voila! Countless hotels within walking distance to Westminster. The only downfall is that it is for England only. And a feature that helps people find which station is near their landmark would also be helpful although Google is just as easy.
Another one I like is Sletoh.com. The features are similar to that of TubeHotels.com but it branches out into many European countries, unlike TubeHotels which sticks solely with England. Plus, you can search Sletoh by landmark, key for those of us who don’t know our way around a city per say but know exactly where it is that we want to go.
So next time your head to Europe to check out the Louvre for inspiration or to sit front row at fashion week, check out these sites.

Sarah Jessica Parker
Though both can be awkward, relatively painful, and leave you walking funny for days, there are just some things shoes are better at than any lover.
Find out why stilettos are hands down better than any one night stand at Stylist.

Iman
Iman. When we first got the chance to interview her, we were sure she would be cool (after all she is David Bowie’s wife). But we had no idea what a wealth of information she would be on everything beauty and style. She even admitted to us that she uses concealor to hide “a multitude of sins.” Plus she’s hella composed and she even threw in a few jokes for good measure. Who knew Iman, the supermodel of all supermodels, was so sweet, accessible, and funny, and has the same skin woes as us mere mortals?
Check out the rest of the interview with Iman at Stylist. And stay turned for next week’s interview with Iman on her Global Chic accessories line.

Mystery Shopping, Part 1
So I put myself out on a limb and spent a few hours doing the mystery shopping thing for Market Force. Like many of you I was curious – is this the real deal or just another scam?
Mystery shopping isn’t as cut and dry as it seems. There is a lot that goes into the process. Before you even step foot in a store, you undergo an application evaluation. This was surprising because I thought that anyone would be able to shop, but that just isn’t the truth. So what happened once my application was approved?

The Younger Skin Diet – Week 8
The final “bonus” week of the Wellness with Rose program was incredibly fun because, as a beauty fanatic, I love testing different creams and oils on my skin. Now that Rose has helped me flush out my body and clear up my skin, I am not afraid to try anything she suggests. This week she provided enough topical suggestions to keep me experimenting in my “spa” (a.k.a. my bathroom) for months!
So what did I really think about this program? Read my review here.

"Mr & Mrs. Smith"
So here’s how it went down. Brad had a dirty face. From kids, from Angie kisses – this we don’t know. But what do know is how he got his smudgy little face ever so lovingly cleaned off for the cameras.
So did Angie lick it off, right there in front of an entire red carpet full of people? If we told you, we’d have to kill you so click, and find out after the jump!

Tyra Banks swears on her mother, literally, that this beauty trick works. Even silver screen queen Marilyn Monroe used to swear by it. But does it really work? And should you really use it nightly?
